Nachricht an Papi

Mal sehen, ob Papi überhaupt, wie geplant, morgen von Berlin nach Stuttgart zurück fliegen kann. Bis morgen ist der Luftraum über Deutschland zumindest schonmal wegen des Vulkanausbruchs in Island gesperrt.


Das einzig Gute an seiner Abwesenheit:
Mehr Platz im Bett.

Gartenarbeit

Ich wurde gefragt, wann ich denn bitteschön mal wieder Fotos von der neuen Wohnung zeige. Weil hier noch einiges in Arbeit ist und noch nicht so, wie wir es uns vorstellen, gibt´s heute zumindest mal was vom Garten. Auch der ist natürlich längst nicht fertig, aber er wird. So sah er aus, als wir die Wohnung zum ersten Mal sahen (ich zeige es nochmal, damit man sieht, wie grün es wird- von den Häusern außenrum ist so gut wie nichts mehr zu sehen)

I promised to show more pictures of the apartment, we bought last fall. As the design is still in progress and our guestroom a construction area, i decided to show our garden instead, which of course isn´t completed, too. The first time we saw it, it looked like this- very green with almost no neighbours around

Hach, bald wird´s wieder so aussehen- aber dann mit Terrasse. Mein Mann ist ein Held. Er hat erst im Alleingang die Erde abgetragen (ja ok- das Fräulein hat geholfen) ...

 Well, actually we do have neighbours as you can see and i can´t wait for them to disappear again behind the trees. And to sit on our terrace which my hero made all by himself-  of course the fräulein gave a hand. First they removed lots of soil...

Und dann schleppte er Begrenzungssteine und über 1 000 kg Quarzkies. Blöderweise haben wir uns total verschätzt und müssen nochmal nachbestellen. So sitzt die Terrasse noch ein bißchen zu tief.

Then he dragged more than 1 000 kg of gravel (as a little personal revenge for your goosy "inches" i have to struggle with in every pattern from the US i refuse to convert it into pounds *teehee*)

Das sind etwa 16 qm, außenrum ist schon ein Beet angelegt mit diversem blühenden Gedöns und vorne und rechts unsere Buchsbäume, die der Opa meines Superlandschaftsgärtners extra für uns vor drei Jahren gezogen hat. Eine zweite Terrasse ist in Arbeit, aber da liegt bisher nur das Vlies.
Dass unser Garten zur Zeit so weiß ist, liegt an diesem Baum, den ich vom Wohnzimmer aus  im Blick habe (das in nächster Zeit auch ne neue Klamotte bekommt)

The first bloomers are already planted (a wayfaring tree, lilac, roses, boxwood...).
We will use this terrace for BBQ´s. A second terrace (for unrestrained chilling) is in progress.
Despite the fact it´s April, our garden is white. The reason is a wonderful blossomed tree right in front of my living room ( still with wintercurtains...)

Die kleine Hexe

In der Fräulein-Schule sind zur Zeit Projekttage. Das Kind hat sich passenderweise für das Projekt "Hexen" eingetragen. Und neben der Erkenntnis, dass Hexeninquisition "echt total blöd" war, kam am ersten Tag auch noch das hier zustande:

Here in Germany, many (all?) schools hold "project-days" once a school year. The children can choose between different offers. One of these projects in the Fräulein´s school for class one was the theme "Witches". The next three days she learns a lot about what happened to women who didn´t live according to the Norm, witch persecution etc.
But she will also craft things like a witches´ besom for example, a grimoire or this little hand-witch. See the red tongue?

Turn this room into an outfit

JUHUUUUU, es frühlingt

die Sonne scheint, die Vögel brüllen und mir ist danach, Euch mal wieder einen Blog vorzustellen, der mich fasziniert.

Diesmal ist es kenziepoo von Rachelle aus Boise in Idaho, USA.

Ich gehöre mit Sicherheit nicht zu ihrer Haupt-Zielgruppe- ihr Blog richtet sich eigentlich an Baby-, bzw. Kleinkindeltern. Rachelle trägt mit feinem Gespür alles zusammen, was sie an entsprechender Deko und Klamotte findet. Und das mit so viel Geschmack und Liebe, dass ich doch bei ihr hängen geblieben bin. 

Inspirierend finde ich vor allem ihre Serie "Turn this Room into an Outfit"

in der sie die Farben eines Raumes aufgreift und daraus ein Outfit zusammensucht.

Ich kann mich kaum für ein Lieblingsoutfit entscheiden, darum ein paar Beispiele:

Glück in Tassen

Da besucht mich gestern meine Mutter, ich komm mit dem Kaffee aus der Küche und was steht da auf dem Esstisch?

Yesterday, my mom came over and brought a great gift. I told about this beautiful china here.

Wofür doch so ein Blog gut is, wa? ;-)

Ansonsten bin ich in der vergangenen Woche gar nicht zum posten gekommen. Arbeit, Renovierung- wir wurschteln immer noch im Gästezimmer rum. Selbst schuld. Wer nicht fachmännisch arbeitet, muss in Kauf nehmen, dass er die halbe Trockenbau-Konstruktion wieder einreissen muss *grummel*

Außerdem haben wir gestern Kies für die Terrasse bestellt. Um Ostern wollen wir sie soweit fertig machen.

During the last week i had a lot of work to do. No time for blogging.

We are renovating our guestroom (with a few problems here and there) and lay out the garden, which means a lot of organizing, visits at hardware-stores, making plans...
